This makes me so sad reading about this school. When my sisters and I went there it was one of the best schools around. We were so proud of our school and stood up for it no matte what. I am so sorry to hear of the down fall of such a beautiful school. We had more pride and stood up for us for anything in home and we were so proud of it it was beautiful the ground. And rounds are kept by the look of the school was absolutely fabulous . If someone dropped a piece of paper already done with play somewhere but most of us kids try to pick up after who did you get the gum gum. We were just all so proud of the school and the teachers are great. I'm so sorry to see this go downhill. When I went there this was definitely up for a five star ask one of the best in town everybody wanted to go there I'm so sorry to hear this .

I am an alumni of George Wythe High School and I must say it's not a bad school. In my opinion it all depends on your child. George Wythe High school gets a bad name for some of the things that happen there; however, other schools have the same issues, you just don't hear about the other schools as much. Your child determines their future not their school. I am a prime example of that. I have one degree and working on the next. I also work for a billion dollar company. People have to understand that education is what you make of it and I don't regret going to George Wythe High School.

It was 1988 & my family and I moved from Suffolk County, Long Island, New York to S. side Richmond V.A. Understand I came from a multi racial school where I was the minority to a bi racial school where I was the majority w/ only 8 white kids attending the school. Day three some wanna be thug tried to use me as a punching bag because his legs were on both sides of the bus seats & I was trying to get over them to chat with a new friend (Mane, Peaches & Poker cousin) on our way to Richmond Tech Center. I was suspended for defending myself, my jaw was dislocated & he had a few scratches. Next, I witness two females fighting & one had a lock & started beating the other female with it. Last straw, report card day students were asking how many flags did I have (code for how many F's). I said none 3 B's Science, English, Math & A grade Richmond Tech. Nurses Aide. O, she's a smart one, no my Mtr. would kick my butt if I did not do my best. The following year I attended John F. Kennedy High & graduated at the Mosic top 25% of my class. I had considerably more competition at J.F.K. Crystal Davis a 1989 grad of J.F.K. intro me to J.F.K. as we attended Nursing school together and my boy friend at the time Antoine Pearson said go for it so I did. I didn't know I could get in trouble for this but this opportunity was worth it and I will never regret it.

Hostile, the kids are very disruptive, if your child is easily distracted do not let them attend, & also it had poor staff they let the children roam the hallways and it's always fight. I WOULD RECOMMEND YOUR CHILD NOT TO ATTENDING THIS SCHOOL!!!!!

One of the worst schools in richmond! The building is crumbling as you read this. There's roaches, mice & rats! Students are animals & some of the staff need to be fired because there tacky & ignorant like the students. Ghetto hoodrat school! I had to fight all 4 years i was there. There is loads of bullying & there are tons of fights everyday. Please keep your child away from that school if your not familiar with richmond.
