For a nominal fee, you can learn about the significant history of rice (as well as indigo and timber) in Georgetown, SC, as well as observing some art, historic artifacts, and the remnants of the oldest remaining boat from colonial times. An informative display of some important African Americans from the area is also included. I especially enjoyed the phenomenal story of Joseph Hayne Rainey. This little gem of a museum packs some interesting information into a small space. As a bonus, the surrounding community is quaint and walkable, and Indigo Bakery next door serves up some delicious treats as a wonderful end to your experience.

Great history explaining how Carolina became the richest state in the south back then....the store has great art, etc...
They have a beautiful gift shop, Enjoyed the tour very much. It was pretty simple and straight forward, but there were some very cool things to look at (I'm not going to post the coolest pictures I took because not knowing what you are about to see kept it interesting). The best part was the hospitality and how our guide kept things interesting. I would recommend this tour if your not from the area and don't know anything about the rice industry.
Very reasonable priced. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the rice industry of long ago.
Very interesting. Lots of history. Good for anyone including children.
