Having lived in Germany for a few years, I'd say the food at Old Europe was pretty good. However, I was surprised that their potato salad, which I've always had warm or at least room temperature, was refrigerator-cold. I thought all German potato salad was served hot or warm. Very disappointed! Sausages and schnitzel were good. Dessert was wonderful! There were a few menu items that they had run out of but we adjusted. Wait staff seemed nice but a little distracted as if they had too much to take care of. Had to try twice to get reservations because they were full due to a party of 18 and the place is very small. They need more space to accommodate a normal size dinner crowd.

My wife and I "tried" the restaurant by ordering dessert. It was absolutely disgusting. Soggy apple strudel and a thin slice of stale Black Forest Cake. Cake was dry and only tasted like plain chocolate cake with cherry pie filling. The topper was the cake was served on a dirty plate. I mean dirty. Not my idea of German Restaurants. No atmosphere at all. German waitresses do not wear nose rings, tattoos all over them and have blue hair. The "floor manager" was a sloppy looking man in a suit he may have slept in. I greatly discourage anyone from wasting money on this over priced joke of a restaurant. Pathetic.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was wonderful, I've not had German food before, but if it's anything like this I'd gladly eat it every day! Our server was pleasant and sweet, she went above and beyond to give us a perfect experience! She even sang us a wonderful German love song at the end of our meal! We will be returning, Guaranteed!!

Be patient here and you will be happy with the outcome. Excellent German food just like grandma would make. Very hard working and friendly staff. This is a great unique experience and you will be happy that you tried it.

Extremely disappointed and Highly Pissed! My roommate and I walked through the doors expecting an Awesome experience. Instead we were greeted by a waitress who walked off without seating us. We waited a few minutes admiring the decor and the cakes that were on display. Shortly we were meet by the Manager who said he couldn't seat us because there was a large party arriving and we should make reservations next time. We could wait but it would be two hours. there were already people sitting in the restaurant just getting there orders delivered to their tables. And there was plenty of seating up front and behind the partition. Maybe my roommate and I weren't light enough to sit in such a barvarian restaurant (and yes, I went there ). I noticed no other patrons of color sitting in this restaurant and I felt that the hostess could have relayed this information instead of having to scamper off and get her manager. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment to be treated like a leper.

I have had dinner there twice and lunch twice. Each time it has been excellent. I've had the Wiener Schnitzel, Sauerbraten and bratwurst. The service is always good and the prices are on the high side. But what I really love are their fresh baked breads. I go there once a month or so and buy 3-4 loafs and throw them in the freezer to eat as needed. The farmers bread reminds me of being in Bavaria. It's perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant.

As a German I have to say I'm happy to have found a restaurant serving almost 100% authentic food. I know it's super hard to create authentic German food in the US, without the original ingredients at hand, but this restaurant really made me feel like at home. Great service and great food. We'll be coming back. You guys should add Schlenkerla beer to the menu :)

Very disappointed! I lived in Germany for four years, and the food here just doesn't compare. A very plane decor. We got there at 5pm just as they opened, within 15 min they quit seating people there were maybe 8 tables of customers the rest of the tables were empty, I could hear the girl at the front saying it would be a 45 min wait, I guess there kitchen could only handle just a few people at a time. It says they have a bakery I did not see one, nothing on the menu from a bakery. The higher rated remarks were not from this restaurant, they only opened about two weeks ago. So if the one in Winston Salem was so good at what they do what happened here in Greensboro? Did they just wake up stupid and unprepared? I'm guessing it goes tango uniform 'tits up' within a year if that.
