I don’t know why it is called bake oven knob!!! A nice place for a quick hike and a great look out. You can drive all the way till the starting point. Be ready to get some dust and dirt on your car since they don’t have a complete road till the end.

The overlook is amazing! Be prepared to walk a rocky uphill path. The view at the top is well worth it!

As everyone says, "amazing views", other than all the graffiti on almost every rock at the lookout... Easy hike up on a not too steep trail, but one that is very rocky so you need to watch your step. In the Winter, there are great views in all directions so don't just visit the lookout. All in all, still highly recommended for a quick hike with beautiful views (which alone warrants 5 stars).

Good hike. Somewhat technical but not overly so. The views are awesome but I wish that people wouldn't graffiti the rocks so much.

The view was amazing except for the 8 or so teenagers smoking weed....

Even though the weather was not great the day I went, the views from that point are awesome. The Appalachian Trail is increasingly rocky as you work your way from the parking area. It's well worth the rocky trail when you get there.

Walk ability very easy. Getting to the top is a breeze compared to pinnacle. It's a breeze because It's a drive up to the trail.

Amazing hike, we parked at the trailhead off 309 N and hiked the Appalachian up through Knife's Edge, P's Peak, and Bear Rocks. Definitely not for the faint hearted. A lot of climbing over boulders, and inclines!! Knife's Edge is awesome and is well marked just be sure to stay close to the blazes, maintain three points of contact on the steep bits and take some pictures on the flat rocks! The views on each side were incredible. After passing Bear Rocks (which my younger brother and I climbed for some more awesome views) the trail mostly evens out before arriving at the Bake Oven Knob parking lot. We headed straight through it and climbed a lot more boulders before making it up to the "Knob". Breathtaking views, one of the more intense we've done but it was an incredibly rewarding hike. There and back we covered about 11 miles and it took us a little over 5 hours.
