Great place with a guy who knows what he's talking about. Been going here since 2013 and still check in. Bought a boat last year and had great experience with the staff and love the boat. They've got an excellent group of instructors who are caring and want to see you succeed. They're also great with any knowledge of the area and the local rivers. Willing to give advice on what to do during certain times based on the water levels. Also their clinics are great to attend. When everyone is near the same level the instructors are able to teach new tricks and techniques while attaining up to a set of rapids. I will certainly continue to visit this shop and purchase more gear from them.

Fun & relaxing day taking the intro to paddle boarding class! The instructor was great and the weather was beautiful. I suggest making sure you bring extra bottled water. We found ourselves very thirsty and in need of more water which isnt readily available from the boat shop (only bathroom sink water available in the pool house).
Saw The Red Kyak, had a nice talk. Might come back sometime.
I suspect the other person who had poor interactions with the shop must have been working with Jim. I likewise had a similar experience when attempting to rent a kayak to put out on Little Seneca. Over the phone I stated clearly that I was hoping to rent next Thursday. He misheard thinking it was tomorrow. I then explained that I was hoping to get out on the lake about 8. He stated there was no way for me to do that since they don't open until 10. Not sure who puts in at 11am after getting up there. 50 for an \all day rental\ that starts at 1000 (11 when I get to the site). Since it needs to be back at 6, fighting the gateway traffic, I need to be coming out at 4:30. I asked if I could secure with a credit card and pick up outside the shop. He said no, the owner wants him to be there. Being a Thursday in March, I asked if I could leave my number and he could discuss with the owner, which he flatly rejected. Flat affect and unhelpful. I suspect he's a great paddler, but that doesn't translate into great salesmanship or customer service. I plan to take my business elsewhere.
All of the instructors are great. They are patient and encouraging, they make the classes fun
