The classes are well structured and the teaching method is based on repetition and knowledge. Classes are available in English and Spanish. Anyone willing to invest time and effort into their certification would be a happy customer here. They also have local and overseas SCUBA expeditions that focus on diving - I look forward to joining their trips!

This place is amazing Mauri and his staff provide a simple but thorough training to get you certified. My wife and I walked in here to get information about becoming certified which I’ve always thought about and within a few months we are open water certified and working towards our advanced certification We just did our first dive trip to the channel islands and dove down to 78 feet and we were well prepared comfortable and really enjoyed the experience If you have been thinking about getting certified or need any more information whatsoever I strongly urge you to reach out to Mauri at Pacific Ocean Water sports you won’t regret it We are really looking forward to doing more dive trips and exploring part of the earth that we’ve never seen before it’s really an amazing experience and much easier to get certified then you would’ve ever guessed We cannot give this place enough stars it really is a great place to get certified and get into the Diving world

How much you like this shop, in particular the owner, depends on your health status. If you suffer from low blood pressure, this guy is the man for you. Just walking into the shop and talking to this guy for five minutes should raise your blood pressure 20-30 points.

I have nothing but great things to say about this shop and it’s scuba instructors. I took the PADI Open Water Diver Certification Course in January and can honestly say I’ve never had so much fun in my life! I had a hiccup with one of the strategies you need to learn in order to pass the course and Mauri made sure we did it at my own pace in the pool until I was confident enough to do it in the ocean. You can tell he really loves his job and values his students safety above all else, so if you’re looking to get certified this is the only place to go!

If you want to travel the world Diving and become Scuba Certified Pacific Ocean Water Sports is the one and only Scuba Dive shop you should go to PERIOD. This shop is honest, transparent, and truly cares upmost about your safety when scuba diving. Mauri is a highly Master Diver with more than 8000 dives and from my many experiences diving with him I always feel safe and very well informed on how to dive and become better. I have dived in many sites in Monterey Ca, the Channel islands, Lake Tahoe, and most recently Hawaii. Scuba diving has been a life changing experience for me. I have dived with Manta Rays face to face, Dolphins, Octopus, Sharks, and so many varieties of fish all thanks to Pacific Ocean Water Sports. Capture time before time captures you. Visit Pacific Ocean Water Sports,I promise you will have a W.O.W experience.

My boyfriend and I recently got our open water certification with POWS. It was a great experience! Everything was very well organized from start to finish. Mauri is a wealth of knowledge with a real passion for scuba diving and teaching. We are both extremely pleased with the quality of instruction and know we’ll be safer, better scuba divers as a result of this course.

I ran into the owner quite by accident after a day of diving. Since that day, he has spent many hours with my wife and myself sharing his love and knowledge of diving. She and I have both been trained AOW by different instructors, and his questions helped showed us how insufficient our training has been to this point. His philosophy is 'don't believe what I say, believe in the training.' Just one dive during a Peak Performance Buoyancy course, he showed my wife that she was carrying 10 lbs too much lead weight. He also showed me how other dive shops that just want to sell what they have on the shelf, can make diving so much more difficult and expensive. He believes in training his students, at whatever level they desire, to be the best informed and educated they can be. It is well worth the 3 hr round trip drive to this shop to receive this higher level training and education. I am looking forward to training with Mauri all the way to Dive Instructor.

Mauri did a great job teaching and always gives extra pointers to help you become an even better diver. They do a great job of organizing safe dives and work to accommodate anyone’s needs. The store is full of great quality gear that they take pride in stocking. Every time you go in to purchase gear they work hard to get you exactly what you need and that it fits correctly. All of the employees are amazing people as well. I would highly recommend Pacific Ocean Water Sports the next time you want to go diving or if you are looking to get certified.
