Over the last ten years, I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Hiland and his office on projects of elegance and distinction I know when I work with Hiland on a the project, it will not only be completed to perfection, it will have artistic merit as well as the proper scale and balance. His dedication to his craft including enthusiasm brought to each project, historical knowledge base of housing types and details, creativity and executing the project is on par with the best architects nationwide. He is adept at many different styles but truly excels when he is inspired by challenges large or small. He has excellent training and education and it shows in his work. We have designed many rooms together that operate functionally and are beautiful aesthetically whether in the traditional style or more modern aesthetic. Together we have created rooms that have won ASID design awards. He is a pleasure to work with and that combined with his extraordinary talent is a combination that is hard to match. His projects reflect a creative blend of classic design and contemporary style, making it an easy decision that he was the architect for us. We initially came to know Hiland not through his website, or a personal referral, but rather, unknowingly, through his work. As it happened, as we were contemplating a move to Morris county, we came upon a series of absolutely stunning homes that were just on the market. Each had its own exsquisite style, and a series of delightful design surprises that captivated us fully. As luck would have it, we missed out on the opportunity to buy those three homes (didn’t move quickly enough!). Some time later we purchased a home in Far Hills, and began working with a designer to care for furnishings, etc. During this time, we began planning for two renovations that we intended to pursue — an extended wine cellar and an attic space conversion to a home office. Our designer at that time referred us to a local architectural firm that she’d worked with on several projects — Hiland Hall Turner. Remarkably, as we met Hiland we discovered that the three homes that we had been drawn to during our home search were all HHTA creations. In our minds, there was no better recommendation than seeing such superb final products with our own eyes. We went on to work with Hiland and his team on the design effort for our two spaces. The team was outstanding - they listen very well, bring new ideas to the table, and follow through brilliantly. They have a design language that is their own, and yet bring a level of originality and creativity to each project. We would recommend HHTA without hesitation.
