Everything started off great, but we ended up with a half-finished job - multiple staircases at various stages of completion, and ultimately we paid for work that we never got done. 4 months later, we’re still trying to recover all of our money and had to hire another company to finish the work. For the work that was done, the quality was decent to begin with, but was rushed at the end mainly due to Robin showing up for just 2/3 hours a day and trying to cram it all in (the quality suffered badly and we had to re-do it). We also ended up with two different stain colors that Robin said he’d fix but he never came back. We now know he took another project working for Wren kitchens and abandoned us. The worst part apart from not paying us back all of the money that we paid him for unfinished work, he also used questionable tactics to get us to advance him money for materials for the rest of the project. He had told us that our baluster manufacturer had stopped making our design so we’d need to pay him to secure those last remaining ones in stock. Stupidly we believed him and we did. We have since found out that the company is still making and selling our balusters, but also he charged us a 200% mark up for them. More fool us for trusting him.
