The former estate home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hoover of the Hoover Vacuum Company fame. Both are now deceased, and the home is currently (August 2019) owned by a development LLC, which has proposed subdividing the 7/- acre estate into 29 single family home properties. This is one of -- if not the -- largest extant estates within the Village boundary. Significant opposition to the current proposal has arisen, based on vehicular traffic, population density, and stormwater management issues. Time will tell if this development proceeds, and what form the final design will take.
