These folks are top-notch. In April there was a storm with huge hail that got us a new roof, including replacement of two skylights that were damaged. We figured when getting the new roof it would be perfect time to add a couple of skylights to another dark area of our home. Figuring all of that out was a headache when dealing with various roofers and I was getting frustrated...until I found these fine folks and once I did find them all of my skylight confusion was gone -- magically. They made the process painless took the time to explain our options and why they were best-suited for the job. This is all they do - and it shows because their work is fantastic. Back to their recommendations - they made recommendations that were not even on my radar (hello tax credit and holy cow, sun tunnels are ahhh-mazing for small areas!). We ended up replacing the damaged skylights which were manual with solar-powered ones, with a gateway that makes them SUPER-skylights and decided to wait on the installation of new ones in the other area of our home. I wanted to have some time with the replacement skylights before making the decision which type of skylights to add. A sun tunnel was also suggested since they are pretty surprisingly cost effective - a Big Bang for your buck. And boy are they! Communication was second-to-none and every single person from those in the office, to sales to the installer were amazing. They bent over backwards when our roof replacement was delayed due to rain and we had to postpone the original install date to get us on the schedule within a reasonable amount of time. These folks are at the top of my list as far as contractors go. Zero disappointments...and that's not often a thing with contractors. I'm certain we'll be working with them again in the next year...I'm so grateful to have found them.

I had Houseworks Daylighting Solutions of Clive, Iowa install my second skylight yesterday. I can't say enough good things about them. First, it's simply astonishing how the extra light from above transforms a room--in fact, the ambient light from the two skylights has now raised the entire second floor to a new level of beauty. Owner Lee Collins takes the time to visit and to understand exactly what I wanted; installer Seth Keller is a practical and meticulous artist. Brilliant work, brilliant light!

Excellenct company. They replaced a skylight and added a roof window for me. They know how to properly install, insulate and add the drywall for the new window. They were always professional, courteous and responsive. Would recommend.

Their estimator came to my house, told me what I needed, said he'd send a quote by e-mail in a day. A week later, no quote, so I called. He said they mailed it, but it did not arrive. Then he said he'd e-mail it. He never did, now it's two weeks and still no quote. He knows my skylights are leaking in rainstorms so I wanted them replaced as soon as possible. I don't think they want my business. Going elsewhere.

Not sure if it the values of the company or the individual who works there. I recently called reached out to this company about replacing a skylight in my home. All the over service was good until I spoke with the installer for my area. Again I repeat the installer for the area. When speaking with the installer we went over my problem and what would need to be done and at the end of it all he asked which area of the city my home is in. I told him I live in the Bronzeville neighborhood which is between Hyde Park and South Loop. His response was okay because it is some areas I will not go to. As African American male I felt totally disrepected by this comment. So I urge those who live in areas where outsiders would like to try and say there are areas in which they will not live or work please look for another company to do the job. This employee has left a bad stain on his employer for simply judging a community based off things he has heard in the news or through he say she say. I know I will be taking my business to a company with employees who respect all people and communities and will be happy to do the job.
