We were truly surprised by the collection the museum has on exhibit. Though local artists are featured we were glad that we took in an hour social distanced. We will return another time.

An outstanding museum focusing on what makes Gloucester unique. You can easily spend 2-3 hours here. I highly recommend taking advantage of a tour with a docent. The 60-minute tour was informative and engaging. After you are finished at the museum, walk toward the water a couple of blocks and you'll have plenty of great cafes and local shops to choose from.
Very nice modern museum with a nicely varied collection. Definatly worth a visit.
This is a great little museum in downtown Gloucester. The Winslow Homer exhibit was really well done, showing his time on Cape Ann & the various items, people, themes that inspired his work during that period - beautifully done! The permanent collection highlights Gloucester's long history with the sea & includes living artists, something I really appreciated!
I great afternoon escape! We sometimes forget how special New England is!
