Very worth the visit. It's free and wasn't super crowded on a weekday. There were 6 old buildings, including a chapel, 4 houses, and a barn to explore. Its a fun visit back in time. There are also some fun things to see on the way to the town like the cemetery and classic decorations that residents along the way put up.

Visiting the abandoned town of Grafton reminds me of the tremendous hardships and sacrifices of the early pioneers that tried to survive in that harsh area. In spite of the beautiful backdrop of Zion canyon, those hard-working people were unable to thrive in Grafton and abandoned their town by 1945. The school/church house and a couple of the homes have been preserved. Both the town and the little cemetery provide sobering moments of reflection, and make me so grateful for the comfort and relative ease of our lives today.

Beautiful restoration considering these buildings were built in the 1800s. The cemetery was also fun to see and learn about.

Fun day trip exploring this well preserved local. Beautiful views of Zion National Park. Travel through the cute town of Rockville, crossing a one-lane iron bridge, then wind along a well maintained road to this cute historic town. The old school house is the coolest building here (but you cannot enter in). The houses around the school house are open to enter and explore. Just be respectful and leave everything as is. Well worthwhile day drip for young and old with a cool history (has a tie to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid movie) and breath taking views.

My husband's ancestors were some of the first residents of Grafton. It was fascinating to see entire buildings from that town. Thank you to those who have helped preserve this town! There were helpful information plaques and we were able to enter several of the buildings and see the cemetery.
