We came to Haw River Canoe and Kayak Company on October 23, 2020 for my friend’s birthday and it was a pleasure! Jacob was able to answer all of our questions and he was very knowledgeable and hospitable! We ended up using the Kayaks. Our instructor Jerry was patient and precise, and he ensured that we were both comfortable and prepared before heading out into the lake. I would definitely recommend this place for both new and experienced customers!

I love to be out on the water, I find it calming. When I need help with anything related to river sport, I call upon Jacob and the good folks at Haw River Kayak and Canoe. I bought gear from them and it was well priced and continues to hold up. I have taken lessons on kayaking and learned about the different areas of the Haw. They know the river in and out. Now that I have my own boat, they have shuttled me (when I had a reservation of course), and showed me different put ins and take outs. They have also steered me clear when the water was too high, and above my skill level. Basically these folks have what you need to have a good safe day on the river, whatever your skill level. Also, side note, the sunset paddles are an awesome way to see the river, and get a gorgeous view.

Jacob and his co-worker were extremely friendly helpful and answered all our questions about Canoeing, locations to canoe and boat sizes. We recommend this company highly if you want to rent a canoe or kayak and paddle on quiet water.
