Hall County is located in central Nebraska. It covers 550 square miles and has a population of 58,814. The county seat is Grand Island. Other villages within Hall County include: Alda, Cairo, Doniphan and Wood River. The Hall County Sheriff's Office and the Grand Island Police Department are located at a shared location, The Law Enforcement Center constructed in 2008. The Sheriff's Office responds to calls 24 hours a day. The Sheriff holds an elected office, which is voted on by the citizens of the county. The Sheriff is elected to a four year term and he or she may serve additional terms if re-elected by the citizens.
