Stay two nights. The first night we were so tired we crashed . Scenery was just beautiful very clean however.... couldn’t take a hot shower with 20 seconds of hot water.... rock hard beds. Up half the night. So my day is gonna be awful.
The campground is well kept and clean. They have great amenities to include: pool, shoppette, pizza snack bar, two separate small dog parks, and a hiking trail nearby. The negatives were the bathrooms and showers. Only two bathrooms for the entire campground, one of which is located in the main office area that closes at 8pm. So it leaves only one at night for entire campground. There is only one shower for the entire campground as well, with another four or five reserved for specific sites. It is unfortunate as this campground has great potential.
Absolutely everything was thought of and accounted for to pack as much in as possible in the little time we had. Amenities, top notch. Management, friendly and inviting (our Swiss hosts Patricia and Thomas were a real and wonderful American/immigrant story). Pool, warm. Ice cream and pizza stupendous. Can't say enough. Other than being land-locked, everything I would want was there.
Easy check in, and they cook pizza that is very good. They were technically closed, but offered to bake one, along with chicken bites and delivered to our site! That is great service.
Beautiful campground. Friendly staff. There is some train noise but wasn’t disturbing for us.
Patricia & Thomas are great. Extremely helpful. Quiet retreat. Easy access from Chicago. Nice 2 hr drive. Definitely going back!
Very nice campground. Somethings were not available because of Covid, not by choice of the campground. Beautiful large trees, quiet and shaded!!
