Adorable place run by an adorable couple. The traditional Japanese dishes are amazing and the sushi is good and a great price. They have a good selection of vegetable rolls and the best miso soup I've ever had.

Don't let the unassuming building fool you... This is the best Japanese food I've had West of the Mississippi. Wonderful flavors, fresh ingredients!!! Sushi was delicious and lovely. Soba, Don, and Hibachi dishes were the best!! Traditional recipes for an exciting new experience, server and owner will make certain you know what you're getting into. Adorable and welcoming owners who really care about the food they serve and the experience of the customer. Will return anytime I'm in Greensboro, had a wonderful meal and experience. A real hidden gem.
Ended up here by chance a year ago and now it is me and my boyfriend's favorite place to eat. The food is delicious and you get a lot for the price, the atmosphere and design of the restaurant is charming, quiet, and relaxing, and the staff is wonderful- after a few visits they had memorized our order and they always come to chat with us when we come in to eat. Highly, highly recommend this hidden gem
One of the best place in Greensboro that serve real Japanese Food from Japanese cook. Because it is a small restaurant, in the middle of nowhere, I don't expected a nice atmosphere or great service here. The food here taste almost like in Japan, but lack some ingredients.
This was a wonderful experience. The environment was calm and relaxing and the prices were so good for the amount and quality of sushi that I got. They also have other foods for people who don't like sushi, also at great prices.
I NEVER leave reviews, but this place was disgusting. We almost left when we first arrived because of the smell and the nasty looking menus, but didn't want to be rude. I wish that we would have. The sushi tasted off....rotting fish maybe? We may very well end up with food poisoning. DO NOT EAT HERE. The only reason we did, was because it was ranked one of the top 10 restaraunts in Greensboro. Surely, this was a typo.
We go to Akashi at least once a week, the service is amazing, and the restuarant is adorable. The food here is amazing, the sushi is always tasty and clean. Everyone that works there is fantastic, and will treat you amazing! I recommend this to everyone I know and constantly try to bring new people here to experience how awesome it is!
I immensely enjoy the food here! We have visited quite a few times, and each visit has been delicious! The service can be slow, but I believe the sushi chef, his wife, and one or two waitresses are the only employees. And with those numbers, I wouldn't expect speedy service. The owners try really hard to befriend repeat customers, it creates a really homey atmosphere that makes every visit quite pleasant :) I favor sushi at Akashi over anywhere else, but I know it isn't the most authentic sushi in town. That being said, many of my friends have tried authentic sushi hated it, but love the sushi at Akashi. I believe their sushi is pleasant blend of traditional and American styles, and that suites me just fine! :)
