This place, I dig it! And I love what GOAT as an organization is all about. The climbing gym happens to be an extra bonus. I have visited several times and only have great things to say. The employees are fantastic, willing and ready to help out in any way. I'm no climbing pro, by an means, but the folks here have always made me feel comfortable and offered a safe climbing environment. If you want to be challenged or just want to learn the basics of climbing, this is the place to go. I often suggest trying it out and have taken friends here too many times to count. If you haven't visited yet, you need to...Get after it!

Best gym in South Carolina. The route setters actually climb outside so they know how to create routes unlike other gyms in the upstate. The staff and management know what they are talking about and are very friendly. They are constantly improving the gym with new walls, new holds, and a new crossfit cage. Highly recommend this gym! *new routes every week too!
The staff is friendly, however, it is one of the smallest climbing gyms I have been to. The climbing gym really only has 5-6 walls and very few roped climbs. Needless to say it can get very crowded very quickly. They also could benefit from repairing the AC (the ducting for it is clearly installed). It can get very hot inside on a humid summer afternoon. Think climbing in a greenhouse.
This gym is a great place to learn to climb in a safe and controlled environment with reasonable prices. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the routes are well set and varied for all levels of climbers. Not only is this a fun place to get some exercise but it supports a great cause as well!
Super friendly and helpful staff. Lots of fun routes and fun people. It's a good place for beginners and more experienced climbers as well. No complaints.
Right down the street from me but always difficult to find a good time to go. I went the other week and stood at the front desk for several minutes staring at different people trying to figure out who actually worked there, after a while of no service whatsoever I just walked right in to find myself in a playpen of madness where mothers enable their kids to run around. I didn't even bother to put my shoes on and left. My boyfriend went recently with his little brother and kids were running underneath him (very dangerous) and no one was doing anything about it. I have been to other climbing gyms and none of them are as bad as this one, there needs to be rules so that everyone can enjoy climbing.
It's nice to have a climbing gym in Greenville again! The facility is nice and offers a decent range of climbs which are switched out regularly. Membership is a little pricey, but understandably needs to be high enough to keep the lights on. They can host birthday parties and other events as well. We have friends that participate in a home school climbing class which is a great idea. I also think the GOAT nonprofit mission is a fabulous idea. I hope it continues to thrive here in Greenville and other locations.
The Mountain Goat is a very professional and thoughtful organization. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and safety conscience. Anyone that says otherwise is wrong. They are always extremely courteous and knowledgeable when I have visited.
