I am a beginner knitter. Cindy, the owner was incredible. She helped me choose an appropriate pattern and the yarn. The yarn was the most difficult because there are so many high quality, stunningly beautiful yarns to choose from. The best part is that she helped me get started on the project. Right then and there. I didn't have to make an appointment and come back. Also she has a drop in help table that allows me to come in when I am free. There is a wonderful punch card system to pay for all of this help, that is very low priced for that personal coaching. I am so happy to be knitting. She has helped me to tap into a whole new area of creativity. The best part of coming here is that I feel welcome. They are like a whole new family. Friendly, helpful and welcoming. All of here customers also reflect what she has built. A wonderful experience for adults, children, men and women. All are welcome.

To be honest, I have been going to a Thursday night knitting group with these ladies before they opened the store. I was standing and waiting for them to open on their opening day and was their first customer. That being said, I have been to other knitting shops in the PDX area and while I like some of them, this is my knitting shop and will stay that way. With a large selection of yarns, some high end, some lower end, and a giant seating area upstairs for people to sit and knit, it is my home away from home. Both open and welcoming, everyone is friendly and genuinely wants to help. Our knitting group has turned me from being someone who only knit scarves and blankets to someone who is willing to try anything, including socks. I love that my enthusiasm and joy of knitting is shared by everyone there and I look forward to Thursday more than I do my weekends. Whether you are a beginning knitter or someone who loves more advanced patterns, you can always find help and companionship, or just a place to get away from it all.
If I could give this zero stars I would. I went in the other day and two employees were sitting at the table and completely ignored me. After about 5 minutes of wandering, one came and asked what I needed. I said I was looking for a present and asked about a particular item. She said they didn't have it and walked away. No suggestions or further help. She sar back down and they proceeded to watch me through the rest of the store. I have never felt so disrespected or judged in my life. Please DO NOT GO HERE. horrible vibe.
