I go here frequently and especially when we are going out of town and we provide FRESH seafood, they pack it in ice so it will last the drive!!! Shrimp, fish, scallops, crawdads --- we also buy quail and jalapeno poppers, seasonings and ghee. We have also bought cast iron, salt boxes and a few other unique things.

Great service and great selection! They helped me choose enough food to feed our party of 7 and wrapped it up nicely in a box with ice to keep the food fresh for the drive home. Pricier than HEB but you get what you pay for! Great selection of seasonings and add-ons as well!
When they are open they always have a good selection, even if pricey. Unfortunately, I've tried to come here twice in the past few months and they are always closed. Both times I've arrived within business operating hours. I even tried calling before this last time to confirm they would be open. I started calling around 3pm and tried multiple tines, but no answer. I assumed they would be closed when I arrived with no one answering the phone, but had hoped maybe they were just busy. I posted a picture of their operating hours posted on their door. I'm writing the review in their parking lot and its not even 4:30 right now. There aren't any other cars besides their delivery vehicles, lights out inside, which tells me that they didn't just lock up a few minutes early. Change your operating hours if you're not going to be open during them.
Great selection and prices. The staff is well informed. They offer ice with your purchase. The only issue is the girl at the front counter constantly yelling to other staff members along with the fact that she didn't close out bags of fish we had to tie them up ourselves.
Groomers has great employees. They are always extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Be sure to catch them during store hours, it's easy to find on Google. Don't complain that they are always closed when you haven't checked the schedule. They have an array of fresh and frozen seafood, as well as items to cook with, snack on, drink and more.
Walked in and waited for a while and had to yell if anyone worked there. Finally someone said yes, sorry. I then wanted to purchase a gallon of oysters and the clerk said sure. She rang me up for the purchase of the oysters, fish fry, and tarter sauce that totalled over 73.00. She was bagging my items when the manager walked in and said "you can't sell those. They have already been sold to Water Street. Refund her money. " The clerk said the guy in back said it was fine to sell them and there was plenty. There was no apology or let's make this right for you. I drove around 20 miles one way to go get them. I will not step foot in this business again. I normally do not leave bad reviews, but this experience warrants one.
Having fresh seafood is fantastic. Being able to choose your fish and filet is even better. Prices are reasonable, given what they offer. We have been eating from Groomer's for the past week. The packaging was excellent; our purchases were heavily iced in plastic bags placed into a taped cardboard box, which we placed in our trunk without concern for hours. Clearly, they know what they are doing. We know they supply local restaurants, but we want it direct from them because we like to cook. Excellent, informative employees greeted us immediately about our needs. They also have a wide variety of items like spices, breading, and specialized cooking utensils. They have a frozen section, too. Their location is easy to get to, just over the Harbor Bridge. We were confused about the parking situation, but we liked the outdoor music as we approached. Thanks to Groomer's for opening this location! We plan to be regulars.
We got here at 445pm and they were closed already. Fbook said they are open till 530. We wanted to stock up on seafood before heading back home
