A growing chain of Argentinian steakhouse has found a home in Hackensack. Mark, one of the scions of the founding family, was gracious, friendly and knowledgeable in conveying the history of his family's foray into the restaurant arena and how they have bigger-than-life ambitions to bring the El Tango brand to every city in America. The decor was simple with elements of Argentinian art work, soccer memorabilia and cultural references. The other staff members seemed jovial and helpful. The appetizers I delved into were good with the exception of the blood sausage and the beef tongue. They both seemed unflavorful to my palate and may seem as an acquired taste to those unfamiliar with these dishes. Sweet bread was good and it was lightly fried and wasn't overly coated with the breading. Salad was average. The skirt steak lived up to its marquee status. Medium rare and soft and just coated with some salt and basic flavoring. Same with the jumbo shrimp. Tres Leche cake was soaked in its signature milks and had a creamy sauce as bed on which the cake was rested on. The family's ambitions of becoming a household name can be attained with constant attention on quality, service and other refinements and tweaking.

Authentic Argentinian restaurant with friendly service and a weekday (thru Thursday) lunch menu. BYOB, live music Fridays, and 3 flat screen TVs for sports fans tuned to Spanish stations. The beef Milanese was prepared well and the yellow rice with beans was ok. The lunch menu is a good value and is served until 3pm so if you are in downtown Hackensack in the middle of the week this is a good place for a quality sit-down lunch. The pretty lady in the picture is our wonderful server.

Great restaurant. Personally liked the asado, beef tripe and the beef empanadas. It's BYOB which makes this place better

Amazing food and service. The food was authentic and delicious...oh did I say DELICIOUS! Service was good. Went on a Friday. They had a live singer. The Apps had quality salumeria. Must try the Parrillada Mixta. It says its for 2 its more for 3. The Beets salad brought me back to my childhood. The Tres Leches was divine. Its also BYOB!

The place is very cozy, the staff and the owner are very friendly and personable. Food is exquisite! Skirt steak is cooked to perfection every time. I have been to all their locations and am always content and satisfied. I would highly recommend this place ...good for an intimate romantic dinner or large groups.

Bad service .... they do an auto gratuity for all tables during the week? No water offered, had to ask for ice just given an empty cup, ridiculous wait times for food... we were the only table in the restaurant Over cooked over salted food There are better restaurants \u200d️

Had a great time. Food was great and not overpriced. Music entertainment on Friday night, had everyone singing along. Great family atmosphere.
