My girlfriend and I went in February and stayed for 5 days. It was spectacular waking up every morning to the beautiful ocean views and was the perfect location for a home-base as we explored the North Shore. It's a very peaceful place. It also comes with its own mostly private beach and waterfall with pools overlooking the ocean. The beach and falls are on the bordering parkland, but access is limited since its surrounded by private property, so might as well be private. A word of warning, the hike down to the ocean and then up to the bottom of the falls is definitely advanced, but well worth it. it was one of the most scenic hikes wee took while on Maui. We were so busy and didn't really take advantage of the yoga, but the staff and owners were wonderful.

This is what we all imagine to be when we think of a Hawaiian Paradise! Acres of peaceful, private space. The sounds, the smells and the sights were absolutely healing. Maui Eco Retreat goes way beyond offering a place to stay. It gives one a respite, a retreat from the daily grind and an absolutely phenomenal experience: from the thoughtful details in every home, to the sacred pool perched on top of a waterfalls on site, to its private path (albeit challenging path) to the sea. One has the choice of just staying in with a good book OR making it a challenging and active vacation! The staff was warm and wonderful and Kutira, the owner was a lovely soul!

We loved our experience at the Bamboo Temple at the Maui Eco Retreat! The property is absolutely stunning, with gorgeous gardens and sacred statues and artwork everywhere. Daily yoga at the yoga temple was wonderful. The staff were extremely kind and friendly. Wonderful focus on sustainable living. The bamboo temple is perfect for a romatic getwaway--the view from the bedroom was gorgeous and I loved the outdoor shower. Awesome hiking on the property. Loved it and hope to visit again!

Maui Eco Retreat is a very special place indeed. From the incredible sunrises and sunsets, to the trails, waterfalls and unique historic temples. They have it all! Wonderful hosts as well, who provided very detailed directions on how to get there, which helped a lot. Highly recommended!

This is not just a Hawaiian vacation or get away when you come here, it’s a true human experience. If you want the beauty of Maui, but also want a a journey you will never forget this place is highly recommended. I am a San Diego native, with family in Taos, NM. who now lives in Chicago, and coming to my this place not only made me happy regarding beautiful scenery but it actually is a journey for the soul, and I mean that. There are only so many words that can explain how amazing and beautiful this experience was, but when you arrive you will be at a loss for words too. The host were amazing and will be back soon for this amazing place. Thank you for opening your place but also opening my mind for new and continued experiences. If you think Hawaii is the best place on earth, well then you just landed in the best place to be in Hawaii If you stay here. Thanks to everyone there. Being there has opened up my spirit in ways that can’t be explained unless you stay here. Mahalo - Chris

Absolutely beautiful location on the coast with views of the ocean under coconut trees. Unique eco architecture, friendly staff, rooms are beautifully designed with art from around the world. Had a great time here.

Maui Eco Retreat is truly a magical place to stay! If you are looking for a down to earth , semi off the grid living, private cottage in nature, to reconnect and get clear than this is the place for you. It is pretty wet on this side of the island so i recommend a rain jacket, and a nice pair of water shoes that you can hike with. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and make you feel welcome. It is very safe as well, never for a second did i ever feel in danger by any means, even at night when it was pitch black. As long as you are respectful to the land and animals the locals will respect you back. Overall this place is great if you want to relax, de-stress and connect with your higher self.

Maui Eco Retreat is truly a gift. We stayed in The Bamboo Temple, and it was the most peaceful, beautiful experience. We’ve never seen anything quite like it. Between the large windows overlooking the coastline, to the bamboo structure inside, to just the overall aura of this place, you felt like you were in a dream. Stepping away from our everyday busy life, we found our happy place here, as there was no WiFi in the temple (there is WiFi in the main house on the grounds if you would happen to need it.) Disconnecting from the outside world was such a nice switch for a while. The eco-friendly and spiritual approach of the retreat is also something special. They are solar powered and their water comes from a well that flows off a volcano. There are yoga and meditation classes, and the grounds are adorned with statues and lovely, soft lighting (which at night is so welcoming). We had the pleasure of meeting Kutira, one of the hosts and owners of the retreat, and she awesome. You can see the passion she has for this place. We will most certainly be back!
