What a beautiful, easy and perfect retreat. Just what we needed in a relaxed, socially distanced getaway. We got in late Friday night, picked up dinner at Molasses Grill and enjoyed a lovely dinner in the cabin. With the charcoal grill and little kitchenette, we kept ourselves fed. The wide porch with comfortable seating gave us a lovely place to read and nap all day. A short walk to the distillery, stretched our legs and offered a variety of craft cocktails. The fire pit had us so relaxed, we were in that perfectly appointed bed early and slept straight through til morning. You don't realize how tired you are until you have the space and time to slow down. Thank you Kelly and James for perfect weekend getaway!

The hosts are so friendly and provide excellent service throughout the whole stay. The bed in the Hunter's Retreat cabin is so soft and comfortable, and the amenities provided add some nice, modern touches, like a towel warmer in the bathroom and remote-controlled AC/heat. And the best part: Getting to pet the donkeys.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay! Hunter's Lodge was incredibly cozy and the surrounding area is beautiful. The beds were clouds, the amenities were thoughtful, and it's the perfect place for a relaxing retreat. And besides, how many places can you stay in VA and see a baby peacock roaming around with its mother?
So peaceful and relaxing. Wonderful customer service and great beverages. Will be returning.
