Love riding the train to Chicago . Due pandemic of covid-19 is the trains running at all. Needing to go to the city to pick someone up and don't wanna drive.
I was at hegewisch station yesterday and the ticket machine would not let me purchase a ticket with my valid credit card. Also.. The schedule quoted 3:02 and the other passenger said 3:47. Clearly the number 30 cta bus could have you at red line much faster than That. I couldnt guarantee that i would get back with that kind of service. Tip: carry at least 15 cash. Just in case.
Excellent train station! Very clean courteous and friendly staff! Much more relaxing than metra! Beats the hell out of driving to downtown Chicago! Ample parking and secure location! Sit back and enjoy the ride!
