What a wonderful Labor day weekend. Since my first visit to BBR, back in spring of this year, I have wanted to get a bunch of family and friends and rent all 4 of the small rustic cabins. This came true this weekend. Weather was perfect. We had a little bit of rain Friday night. After that, it cooled off. Cool to cold at night and perfect temp during the day. We hiked, fished, napped, grilled and really just got away from it all. Cell service is horrible. That is a good thing. They do have WiFi if you really need to get connected. I suggest not. The rustic cabins are exactly what I like, just a comfortable place to sleep. Bathrooms and showers are always clean. Travis and Linda have become a couple of our best friends and we always look forward to our next visit.

I stayed here for two nights a couple years ago while hiking the AT. The owners were magnificent! The cabin I rented was awesome and very inexpensive. What a beautiful location too. It was really nice to buy some snacks and drinks and chill out by the creek after a long day of hiking. The trail near the Black Bear is some of the best of the AT too. I even caught some trout nearby. I wish I could go back....
It's an awesome place with nice hiking trails...bright waterfalls. Owners are super friendly and kind. We highly recommend it! Thanks so much for you hospitality!!! Diana and Andre ...the guys with the 32ft RV
I was there last weekend with my Jeep and had the best time. Super nice People, it was like family. I love this place. I will go back for sure
Stayed here while section hiking the AT. What a welcome relief. We stayed in a rustic cabin which was plenty for my wife and I. Cabin was large with a bunk on the bottom large enough for us to sleep together. Two chairs, stool, table, ceiling fan, and heater are provided. Cabin has a large front porch where we could lay out and dry our equipment while it was raining. Bathroom, showers, small laundry, and small recreation room were within steps of our cabin. If you only need a bunk house, they have one and it is perfect for the solo biker on a budget. They have a small camp store where you can resupply if necessary. This is by far, the nicest hostel we stayed out so far on the AT. Very clean and tidy. Finally, the owners treated us like family. Very welcoming and accommodating.
Just camped for the weekend but had a great experience. The place was well maintained and had great facilities. It would be a good spot for through hikers to rest and take care of some laundry. The owners were very friendly and they loved dogs so that was a plus for me.
Adorable. Affordable venue for a wedding and affordable lodging for guests. Owners are awesome!
We were section hikers on the Appalachian Trail and walked the short walk up Dennis Cove Rd to Black Bear for pizza. Wonderful experience. The pizza was great, and they did everything to make us comfortable. They even drove us back to the trail. 5 star place and also a well stocked store for resupply.
