This preserve offers a unique landscape from its surroundings. Open and spacious with paths that wrap around and across Mallard Lake, hills in the west and trees to the north and east keep it secluded and peaceful. Admittedly, the uncharacteristic hills for the area were once landfills, but they still offer a grassy sloped barrier keeping the bustling traffic outside. Mallard Lake is a great place for walking, running, fishing, or just sitting still in all seasons.

This is a magnificent forest park with beautiful nature trails and bridges around a sparkling blue lake. Family friendly, dog friendly. Hurry up and go before all the leaves fall!

I've been going here since I was a little kid, and the beautiful paths layered with a carpet of colorful leaves still leave an imprint on my mind. This is the perfect place to walk at during the fall.. especially on the deer trails that lead into the woods! The landfill and lakes add an extra layer of ambience that adds to the perfect little getaway.

Great time ice fishing, also great trails around here to walk with family and dogs. Forest Preserve Officers make sure off the safety and people here and very professional and friendly as well

Mallard Lake park is a great place to walk. The paths are well marked with maps at different locations. There are 3 different views: lake, prairie and woods, nice variety.
