If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I came back into town today after being out gone for a couple of weeks, and my mom just let me know what went down here. She had to board my dog for a day, and brought her to Happy Tails because of the good reviews and convenience. When she picked her up, she noticed that her demeanor was incredibly off from the norm. She's a happy dog that loves all people and animals, and this was super odd... she is quite accustomed to staying at boarding facilities, and always comes home so excited that she got to meet so many new friends. She came home filthy, ended up having diarrhea, and wouldn't eat for the next two days. My mom took her to the vet the next day, and after finding no medical issues, the vet determined that cause of her symptoms was likely due to extreme distress. Be weary of bringing your fur baby here.

EDIT: I'm updating my review from five star to four star due to my dog's erratic behavior upon returning from his last stay. He has been house trained for months now, however, after this last boarding visit for the weekend, he has been peeing and pooping in the house! He peed on the carpet right in front of me! After it happened three times, I called to see if there were any issues that could've caused that to occur, but they said no. I'm hoping this is just a phase, but he is 9 months and this is this is definitely not normal for him. Took my dog here for the weekend to help with his separation anxiety and he had a great time! I received a picture every day from them so that was a nice addition. I loved the little note I received from the resort after picking him up also. I'm glad I found a great new place for him.
I was able to go check out the place in advance which was perfect because my cat had never been in a kennel before. So I knew it had to be lovely and the people nice to work with her as it would be a struggle. The place had a nice setup and she would have the ability to get out of her cage room, stretch, and run around. So we moved forward. It was a easy drop off and pick up. During her stay, I received daily updates and pictures on her progress, her attitude, behavior, all that stuff so that was very soothing for my nerves. This was the first time that we would be separated for such a long time and she wasn't with family. So those updates worked and I saw that slowly but surely she was warming up to the people, and adapting to her situation. So we both made it through the week okay. When picking her up, she didn't look banged up or anything, just really happy to see me as I was happy to see her. She'd lost a little bit of weight, but that was to be expected. So all in all, I would take her back there again. I think she enjoyed her time there and that makes me feel happy and secure about leaving her there again.
The new manager at happy tails is horrible. I never met a manager with terrible customer service. He isn’t personable at all and doesn’t talk to us like the old manager did. They also hired back derenda (Spelling could be incorrect) that lady is very opinionated and told me I need to control my dog and not let my dog act a certain way. This place is awful!
Over the years I've boarded my dogs in different facilities, but Happy Tails is a whole other level of service and care. The entire staff TRULY loves animals and I've seen such a connection between the employees and the dogs in their care (especially the assistant manager Mike, who is phenomenal!). This is the cleanest boarding facility I've ever been in, and business-wise seems to run like a top (kudos to the owner Brenda for that!). I usually hate boarding my dogs, and worry and miss them terribly, but boarding them at Happy Tails alleviated any apprehension; I was actually EXCITED for Thomas and Theodore to go and play and meet new friends, and they came home completely happy and well-rested.
