Our son has been at Sylvan since just before the Covid shutdown. We have been very happy with the service and availability in scheduling. Our son enjoys Mr. Tim especially. When we signed up at 2 hours a week, we were given what we considered a fair rate that we could pay monthly. However, now we are being told that it was a promo rate and the price is increasing by 150 a month. When asked if there was a discount for paying 12 months in advance, we were told no. This is unacceptable to us as we feel that the professionalism has decreased, especially at the front desk check in, which is now a fingerprinting service that we were not informed of beforehand. We are looking at other options instead of renewing our contract.

My kid is fixing to be 10 and none of the people at school could teach him to read fluently. He has been there now for 3 months and we go by stuff and he reads everything to me. He started showing almost immediate improvement in confidence reading and understanding a great place that helps kids.

Two stars are only given for the 5 star teaching staff. They are amazing. I'm so thankful for Mr. Tim especially for sparking a love of math for Addison. My disappointment comes from Sylvans disorganized Management through COVID. Sylvan shut down only 2 weeks after we began the program. I continued to pay, told that was my only option or pausing for 2 months...but we didn't expect it to be shut down that long and you can only pause once. My credits would be banked and paid back later. Before I signed on I also mentioned a 2.5 week vacation end of may...no problem I was told. They would bank my hours and she could use them too over time to catch up on hours paid. Well...they lost their director...who I spoke to....no one told parents of this until I pushed for why my emailswent unanswered. Finally they got one...she quit a week later. Now they have another and despite my tracking the days she was there (vsfor vacation or Sylvan failed to schedule her)....she says I have used more credits than I've paid....my count says Sylvan owes me 6 hours. So be prepared...no one cares and they keep citing \hours don't roll month to month\...even though I was told they would. I'm out 6 hours paid tutoring time...and Sylvan isn't cheap.
