Lovely rock formations and of course the beautiful Shenandoah River. Good semi flat trail for those with ambulatory troubles. A worthwhile visit.

We stopped here during our aqua blaze section of our Appalachian Trail thru hike. It had a concrete boat ramp and was within walking distance of a country store where we resupplied. No onsite camping tho.

Great place to get out on the water. We brought 5 tubes from 5 below and floated for a few hours. The river was not really running quickly so we didn’t even need to park a pick up car at another spot. We kinda just sat in the middle of the river and enjoyed ourselves on a hot hot hot day!

When you follow the road to the river, theres a large parking lot, concrete public launch with access the fire road along the shore to this beautiful meadow. Much easier hike on fairly level grade than the \hike in\ further down Mission Rd
