Needed a place to worship while being out of town for business. I went to the vigil mass and found the parish to be warm and welcoming. I was greeted at the door with an extended hand. In the worship space I felt it to be warm and alive which is not usually found in older parishes located in a downtown area.

My wife and I went to Blessed Sacrament while vacationing in the area. We decided to go to Confession and Mass Saturday evening. Be prepared, if you are a visitor and going to Confession, that there is a confessional before the nave and there is an office in front of the women’s bathroom that a second priest will use as well. So, if you see a line in the corridor, it’s not for the bathroom. After confession, I was delighted to participate in praying the Most Holy Rosary, in the nave. It was difficult to pray as there were people talking and laughing. Right before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass began the “commentator” asked new people to stand up so they could be recognized. After applauding the visitors it was now time to “greet your neighbors.” I did not stay and it may be a very reverent Mass. Therefore, I will give it four stars.

My wife and I attended the Sunday 8 a.m. Mass while on vacation. We felt welcome from the ushers as soon as we arrived. I loved the piano and singing voice of the lady leading the worship songs. Near the beginning, they asked for visitors to stand which was a little different but nice actually to see others visiting. The parish is located in downtown Harrisonburg and you can see a collage of iphone shots that I took posted on this review. One thing that I love about being Catholic is the consistency in the flow of the service. The homily was memorable in that Christ provides direction for us through His word and His Church like road signs that direct us. As my wife and I were leaving, we shook hands with Fr. Kaberia and he asked \Where are you from?\ with a smile on his face. I thought this was a nice finishing touch for an overall great experience.
