Doña Fer Grocery is THE PLACE for tamales in Harrisonburg. I'm originally from Dallas, Texas...and I love tamales. Real, hand made, home cooked tamales are unbelievably delicious...and a rarity to find. The tamales are authentic and amazing at Doña Fer. I bought 4 for 7.00, which is more than reasonable...they're huge! Also included was fresh salsa verdé...incredible (and spicy!). No joke: you want these. They also offer a wide variety of fresh, traditional produce, sundries and beverages (including my wife's beloved Mexican Coke!) Check out Doña Fer Grocery Store...

Nice Spanish Owners. Beautiful Nature inside this Store. In the Summer months when you walk in - can smell the Fresh Fruits all around. They have Cactus for sell and Spanish Drinks n pasties. Nice store.

We tried the pork tamales and stewed beef over tostadas (bought from the store), and they made an amazing meal. The spicy green salsa was so good as well. We will definitely be back. My kids had never tried tamales, but they all liked them. The owners are such a nice family as well. We'll be back!
