I drove from Winchester, VA to attend the Hymn Sing Sunday evening, September 17, 2017 to, hopefully, relive the experience of Mennonite accappella singing. I had first experienced it in high school when I attended a Mennonite high school, Central Christian High School, in Kidron, Ohio. What a blessing I received, listening to the congregational singing of the Harrisonburg Mennonite Church. This tradition must not be lost. Instruments certainly can add to a worship experience, especially for the younger generation, but they must not lose this simple, but profound way of worship. It is the closest to the Heavenly Choir we can experience here on Earth.
