We each got 2 flights of 4 and a 9th to taste. Super-friendly staffer. Clean location; everyone wearing masks! Our top 3 were Hip Hop (mine), Sweet Shenendoah and VA Hewe's. Nice outside seating options. Next time we're in town, we'll be back!

Welcome to the newest cidery in the Shenandoah Valley. Located in downtown Harrisonburg, VA, this is an urban cidery, complete with the Back Porch for sitting and relaxing with the family. I preferred the Hip Hop, while the kids enjoyed sparkling cider (just so we weren’t drinking alone LOL). Very family and pet friendly. It’s nice to this this area of Harrisonburg taking off! What a great addition.

Absolutely amazing cider. It was hard picking out a favorite from the flight, they were all so great. We are just passing through, and already regret not getting more growlers filled than we did. If you like craft cider, or think you're only a beer or liquor person give them a try. They will most definitely have something that will knock your socks off and be right up your alley. We will be making a trip back again soon, with Sage Bird being as a big a draw as the national park down the road.

A great addition to the downtown scene. If beer isn't quite your thing then the Cider at Sage Bird is. Great selection for anyone who wants more than just the store brand ciders. Great staff who were eager to answer questions and make the visit that much more enjoyable. The scenery is fun and has a personality all on its own. I'm very excited to make this a regular stop on my weekends.

Today (3-11-21) was my first visit to Sage Bird. They've made the most of the space they had to build, with outdoor seating behind the building (currently with geodesic tents with tables following Covid-19 protocols) and the main room opens up to the outside via garage doors, perfect for beautiful days, which today happened to be. Not much parking on the premises, but plenty of adjacent street parking. Really enjoyed the ciders here, and there's a wide range to suit most every palette, including non-alcholic ciders. That said, you might find a cidery to be serve a slightly different clientele than some of the local breweries (with some overlap). I had a flight which included the Sauce's Envy, the Sweet Shenandoah, Brandied Cherry (my favorite of the four) and the VA Hewes Crab. Tasting notes can be found on Sage Bird's website. I think the place needs to have time to settle in post-Covid to develop a bit more character, but this is a good beginning.

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Dogs are encouraged which is a huge plus too! We were glad we went but the ciders were slightly better than OK. The choice in flavors were not very diverse and it was difficult to find the "notes" that were in their descriptions. The cider sour they had was fantastic and full of flavor and the bourbon barrel aged cider was very tasty as well but the rest of the flavors tasted very similar to each other.
