I had a very good experience with Green Gavel Auction. During a recent auction, I purchased some items and received them in the mail promptly. However, the items I received were not exactly what the description indicated during the auction. Frank from Green Gavel was incredibly responsive and offered to send a bonus package which again, arrived promptly. Green Gavel's customer friendly approach is outstanding and I'd highly encourage you to do business with them!

I attended my last auction with Green Gavel. After winning a helmet, giving them my number, and given the item by the auction staff another bidder claims his bid was missed and he would pay more. The auctioneers staff walked back to my seat, took the item from my hands and reopened the bidding for the complaining bidder. Since this bidder was an obvious acquaintance of the auctioneer my protest that I was not ok with action went totally unanswered. The Auctioneer lacks integrity and any form of honesty, plays favorites, and is without any redeeming merit. I cannot recommend this auction for any purpose. A total waste of time and money. I'd give them 0 stars but you have to leave one to post. I plan to follow up with Delawares Better Business Bureau so others are warned and not treated in this manner. i SEE THE RESPONSE BY THE OWNER AND CAN SAY I'VE BEEN COMING TO AUCTIONS IN DELAWARE SINCE 1982. i KNOW WHAT A MISSED BID IS AND WHEN YOU CALL THE BID 3 TIMES THEN HAMMER DOWN ITS OVER. THE PERSON INVOLVED IS WELL KNOWN TO ME AND TO THE AUCTIONEER. THE BID WAS NOT MISSED BUT THE PERSON IN QUESTION WAS RUNNING THEIR MOUTH AND NOT PAYING ATTENTION. ONLY AFTER THE ITEM WAS IN MY HAND DID THEY SAY THEY WOULD GIVE 300.00 FOR IT. THE AUCTIONEER ACTUALLY STATED THAT THE PERSON IN QUESTION SHOULD STOP TALKING TO THE PERSON NEXT TO THEM AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE AUCTION BUT STILL TOOK THE FROM THE WINNING BIDDER AND ASK IF THE WINNING BIDDER WOULD PAY MORE THAN 300.00 EVEN AFTER THE ITEM WAS ALREADY SOLD. THE LONG WINDED LESSON ON HOW AUCTIONS WORK AND HOW THEY ARE FAIR RING HOLLOW TO THIS TYPE OF FAVORITISM AND OUTRIGHT CROOKED DEALINGS. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS AUCTION.
My experience with Green Gavel Auction was great! The whole operation is run professionally from the first consultation visit to the planning and successful execution of the auction. Ben Twilley kept me informed at each step of the process. Whenever I had a question, he would get back to me in a timely manner with an answer. It was a very successful sale of my home, acerage and farm property, etc. I'm a satisfied client.
The owner and auctioneer Ben Twilley is a scam artist. I went to the auction for the 1st time tonight 8/8/19 & waited 2 1/2 hours to bid on boxes of baseball cards. He started the bid on 1986 topps traded set at 200. Theyre worth 20 max. He went to sell a box of baseball coins. He only had 1 bidder at 20, so he pulls his phone out of his pocket and says \I got an online bidder\ & ran the guy up. His phone was black, no caller and since when does an auctioneer do that? He then said choice boxes of cards. He started the bid at 500 & said he got a bid and went to 525. I stopped him and said who bid 500? He pointed to a lady and she said no i did not. He then would not sell the majority of the boxes because he said minimum bid 25. I wasted 2 1/2 hours waiting to bid on them. They were worth 10-20 max each. I have never seen an auction run like this. The guy is a scam artist. Buyer be warned.
Excellent auctioneer and staff. Usually has lots of great items and normally I can make purchases at a reasonable price. Does not charge a Buyers Penalty which is rare now and saves me a lot of money. Office staff very professional. Keep up the good work Ben and Michele.
