It's ok. I would like to see a game store with more board games, walmart has a more diverse selection of boardgames. I guess it is cool it is local....? Edit:. I understand that there is a pandemic, but when you have a more diverse selection of games, that would be better. It looks like a place were boys play card games and rpg games only.

Great people, good selection if your into cards but not really miniatures friendly.
Bear's Lair is the best game store in New Bern! There is a selection of table top games, card games, role playing games, and accessories to choose from. They host tournaments, special events, and casual gaming. Bear's Lair is also a great place to socialize and meet new friends.
Was surprised at the selection of cool board games. Workers were very nice and helpful.
While it might be a great space to get a table to play, and maybe to meet gamer community, they had very little stock of anything. This might be because of the pandemic so, benefit of the doubt.
5 star fully deserved. Committed player base and excellent staff who makes you feel like family. If you want to play MTG, come here especially for Friday night magic and set releases. I've since moved and really wish that we had a shop like this. When the hurricane hit and the shop was flooded I saw posts on facebook about the owner giving help to people in need and hosting magic at players houses so everyone could get their fix. Truly a wonderful place, DO NOT hesitate to start playing MTG again with this shop!
The owner and family are absolutely nice people and easy to get along with. Pet and kid friendly. Always enjoy my time here whether it's for an evening or a quick in and out shopping.
Shop leans heavily toward MTG gaming but surprisingly has a section for RPGs and Games Workshop paints and models. Ample table space for gaming. Very nice staff and friendly shop dogs. No real complaints, only wish there were more RPG items and dice since that is my genre of play.
