This parish is very pleasant to visit. I live a good walking distance from it so I ended up going weekly with my siblings. The pastor\u200bs are very nice, the lectors and choir are nice as well, and the church is just absolutely gorgeous. If you're visiting the town, I highly recommend you check this church out if you need a place to attend Mass.

St. Joseph Church at SS Cyril and Methodius Parish is the oldest Slovak Roman Catholic Church in the western hemisphere. Founded in 1882, the current church building is the 4th after fires claimed earlier structures. I'm told that the front facade survived the last fire (1963) - remnants of which can be seen on the left side of the tower when facing it from the street. The interior of the church is cathedral-like in its size and appointments. Liturgies are impressive particularly during the Easter Triduum. Tradition and heritage are both respected and well preserved by the welcoming pastor, deacon and friendly parishioners. When in Hazleton, PA, a visit to this historic parish and it's grand church is highly recommended.
