I finished the massage therapy program 2 years ago. I definitely am pleased I chose Heritage over the other schools in the Fort Myers area. I had a job before I graduated and have received lots of help transferring my license to another state. There were some major restructuring changes that happened in the middle of my program, that at the time were very hard to adjust to. I can't fault the school 100% because they are a business and needed to make adjustments. It was just very upsetting at the time and I feel like they could have transitioned the restructuring at little more gracefully. However, the school left me prepared for work. I worked with other new students who graduation from the other local schools and that's when it became the most obvious how my training was far superior. I built my clientele faster, I could handle a longer work day and my technique was much more fluid because I was more practiced. Because it's a longer program you develop your routine and have it down perfectly by the time you graduate. The students in the other programs may have a routine, but it is not as well practiced. I would not have gone to another school in the For Myers area if I had a redo.

I've only been attending Heritage for a few weeks now but so far it has been amazing. Every teacher, staff personnel, and even security officers greet you everyday with a smile and a hello. The classes are small and extremely hands on which I love. Everyone is very friendly and easy to speak to about any questions you may have. They're not lying when they say their doors are always open to students. I know I still have over a year to finish but I'm very optimistic about what my experience at heritage will be like.
The school overall is a nice school, campus is clean, majority of the staff is friendly and willing to help students with academic and personal issues as they arise. Eva, the Director of the Fort Myers, FL campus is extremely kind and endearing. Although I do not promote technical/trade schools, Heritage does do an excellent job in helping less fortunate students learn skills and find jobs in a difficult economy. I worked for this company for approximately one year. I didn't enjoy my experience in the Admissions Department for a multitude of reasons. Josh, the Director of Admissions, is a very uneducated, micro managing boss. The company secretly records your phone calls and requires that you follow scripts verbatim while speaking to students on the phone and in person. In my opinion, Josh as a leader, motivator, and boss, preforms very poorly. Most of the "positive" reviews written on websites are contributed by him in an effort to even out the factual negative reviews written by students/employees/former employees. I didn't appreciate working in an environment that felt hostile and negative, nor did I enjoy almost forcing students to enroll using sales tactics and harassing phone calls. I'd recommend working for this company in any department BUT Admissions (unless you like long hours, not thinking outside the box and being micro managed), as the pay was adequate and the very upper management was helpful and nice.
The lady at the admissions office was really nice at first but I was very clear with all the staff there that I was only looking for info. I did apply and got accepted but I've expressed to them that I was no longer interested. They still however, kept calling me every other day until I had to call personally to let them know to get me off their call list. They also ordered uniforms and books on my behalf without my authorization. I'm not even a student here and already my experience was horrendous. I'm not trying to convince anyone to not go here, I'm just expressing my experience with them. I personally wouldn't reccomend this school to anyone. I'm moving to Miami soon to go to a better school that actually have interests for their students and not their wallets/purses.
I had a wonderful experience at Heritage while getting a Swedish massage. The staff was friendly and professional. The students were well trained and courteous. The location is convenient. I highly recommend going there for a massage.
STAY AWAY frm this school!!! Was Interested in Medical Assistance and Xray Tech I called the school to simply get some information. The administration sounded scripted (fake) as HELL to begin with. They literally make you come there in person. Because for some odd reason they don't give ANY information through the phone. Keep in mind I live an hour away..my intention was to go and get basic info before you know it these people are convincing you to sign up like at the moment and been told I start the NEXT DAY? The administration is VERY PUSHY. They leave the important things out, the program alone was going to be 25,000 even with financial aid!!? And never told me til AFTER they forced me to sign up, these folks only care about your money. I withdrew after a week!! And made that even more difficult for me to do that..I was OUT.
This school is a joke, the teachers are a joke.Personal trainer instructor Jim is the worst. He doesn't have a clue how to teach. When you throw a question that he has no clue how to answer,he just talks in circles.Jim you're not just a "dumb weightlifter". you're just DUMB. SCAM. When I signed up I was told I did not need to worry about payments until 6 months after I graduated. Two weeks before graduation,I was taken into the office and told I was overdue on payments and needed to make payments right away.I agreed, however because I was so overdue.the payment was to be something outrageous month after month. I begged and pleaded with administration to lower the payments to something reasonable.3 years later and I never got,a certificate or diploma or anything.and unless something proactive will be done,I'm not looking for a corporate scripted answer.
I used to go to school here. And this is my take on it, CON: They showed a VERY inappropriate video called "Kids". Basically, underage porn...!!! They said it related to AIDS education that they were required to give. .... WHY is AIDS education related to massage therapy????? OH, that's right!.. IT'S NOT. Well hey, I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna just sit here and watch a 2-hour long underaged porn video about the dangers of AIDS. I already know about it. I'm good. LOL CON: I felt coerced into joining. Sort of like a scam. And in the end, it was. Because NONE of the months of work I did could be applied to anywhere else. Even there! CON: They advance people who are NOT ready to be advanced to the next level. CON: Favoritism. PRO: Nice, clean facility.
