Had heard good things about this place and had always wanted to stop by,, but the timing never worked out till today. Just good folks who know gardening, their plant stock and what grows best in the North Georgia area. A decent selection for the end of May. (It's been such a cool, wet spring we delayed planting a bit, so the selection was down a little, but still quite adequate.) We were looking mostly for perennials to border a stone walk and needed part sun plants. Very good selection of those, which usually are thin elsewhere. The annuals were a bit thin, but as noted, we did wait a bit this year. What most impressed me was a) the owner's knowledge, which he shared freely when asked and b) that none of the plants was pot bound and that the roots separated easily in moist but not soaked soil, unlike too many of the supermarket or big box store plants that are either too dry or soaked and with roots you practically have to hack apart. (English Country Gardens uses drip irrigation, from what I saw.) The prices are reasonable, though, as you might imagine, not the cheapest. But you get what you pay for. So if you want some cheap petunias or impatiens to throw in a pot, then hit the big box. If you want quality plants that will make you look like a gardening genius, you probably should check this place out.

I love to buy my plants where I receive clear instructions how, when, where to plant my beauties for a long healthy display. Unique Lacey Lime, perfect for that hard to fill spot. I will start my shopping early next spring.

This olace grows all of their own plants, meaning they're moreclikely to survive in our climate. I went at the end of the summer so the selection had dwindled but the owner was so kind and helpful. He walked around with me showing me what they had and answering all of my questions. I can't wait to go back in the spring!
