I would like to say Cindy was amazing and always got back to me ASAP the staff was great and everything turned out perfect I had a Quinceanera for my daughter the hall looked beautiful all my guest complimented me on how beautiful everything was would recommend this hall

I truly wish that I can honestly give 5 stars for this review. However a few things transpired in the beginning and mid stages of planning the reception. Cindy is a very pleasant, hard working and dedicated individual. However, she fails to return phone calls, texts and emails in a timely manner. On a few occasions, I had to contact the church directly for information to be passed onto her. In my opinion, lines of communication must be improved greatly or an assistant should be available for current and future clients. Which will free up Cindy to focus on other dutie. As the date grew near, Cindy began returning phone calls more frequently. The event for my bride, was a complete success!! Strake & Van Til, catered the event and supplied the wedding and birthday cakes. They were just awesome!! The staff was patient, helpful and very pleasant.

Everything was going well. Cindy was polite and good to work with but then the actual day came. I was told off the bat they would not cut the cake for me that it was my responsibility to cut it and put it on the table. My husband was rudely told the party didn't start until six and he had to tell them he was the father. I paid for 60.00 for a security guard who wasn't present. I paid for two bartenders and by the middle of the night there was only one left. My husband was told by one bartender, \You people drink a lot of Heineken just like the blacks do.\ The DJ was told the last song was at 11:30 p.m. when we paid for the time frame of 6:00 p.m. to midnight. One of my guest was told they could not go into the bathroom because they were cleaning it. They were straight up racist to my guest calling them dirty and made the statement in the lines of that's why you people live the way you do. My sister in law had to tell the lady cleaning the bathroom to stop because she overheard her complaining to herself about the dresses my daughters left in the bathroom when they changed into more comfortable clothing. My brother in law was cut off from consuming alcoholic drinks by 9:00 p.m. when I paid for an open bar for 4 hours. My other guests were not allowed to take more than two drinks unless they watered it down. This all happened before midnight before our contract was expired. I will be calling to request a refund for all the things they did not fulfill. If you think I lack education or that MY people do as well I can at least say that we are respectful and don't discriminate based on race, color, gender, or other preferences. St. James Hall management please ensure that you hire people who are open minded or to the least I would hope that MY people do not contract your hall for any future events.
