The goal of the NCA is to meet a need within the community for high quality mental health services from dedicated clinicians with proven experience and expertise in working with children, adolescents and their families. The group is unique in two ways: first, it's respectful relationship with each of the independent practitioners and second, its efforts to proactively address coming changes to healthcare, particularly to private practice as we now know it. Many clinicians who choose private practice do so not only because they want to provide quality care but because they also want to preserve their independence and autonomy, maintain a work/life balance of their choosing and increase their income. Current models for private practice are frequently isolating and lack peer accountability and support. Also, with coming changes to healthcare, it is anticipated that sole practitioners will find it more difficult to work with insurance companies and build the necessary relationships with physician groups.
