I love coming to Oconeechee Mountain. The views from the overlook are breathtaking. The trails are also well maintained, and they are fun to hike. Most of the trails are not for the faint of heart as some of them can be intermediate to strenuous.

Beautiful views with a variety of terrain and plant life. There were multiple places to stop and enjoy a snack or the peaceful river. Dog friendly which was nice!

We hiked at Riverwalk and the visited the Occoneechee Mountain State Park. At this time they are building a replica of an Occoneechee Village that is believe was in this location. It was interesting to see the small tree trunks used to build the buildings. They were bent over into the building frame and tied at each intersection of each part. They had started putting the outside protection on two of the buildings. I can’t wait to return when the project is finished!! Awesome experience!

This is a fantastic place to walk and hike. There are a number of trails. The Occoneechee Trail is the most strenuous, and it gets pretty steep. I recommend starting on the right side and ending to the left. It seems a bit more manageable that way. But, if you're wanting the workout, go for it. The view from the lookout is gorgeous, and the views of the river are excellent.

Really enjoyable trails. Spent just a few hours and hiked almost all of the trails. Passport stamps for Occoneechee Mountain trail are located at the Eno River visitor center. There is only one unisex restroom. Though it wasn't very busy when we arrived we still waited in line to go before hitting the trail. With a lot of people wandering off the designated trail it can be easy to veer off course so keep an eye out if you are trying to stick to the marked trail. All in all a truly beautiful hike.
