I was gifted a vintage Hobart-made KitchenAid K5-A stand mixer that was running but in desperate need of some love after years of non-use. After calling around for a tune-up in Chicago (no one would touch it), I found Dan at ABESCO - and, boy, I am so glad that I did! He was friendly, courteous, and professional; he even recommended a place to grab lunch while I waited an hour, hour and a half for the service. When I got the mixer back, it looked and ran like new: no more oily crud oozing from the mixing head, no more rusty bits and scuff marks on the body, no more smell of burning from years of dust and non-use, and no more slipping of the speed setting. I simply could not be more delighted with Dan's service and kindness (he even let me take the mixer home without paying when I realized I forgot my credit card - who does that anymore?). Highly, highly, highly recommend. 10/5 stars.

This gentleman repaired my Kitchen Aid stand mixer, 28.2 lbs, while I waited and was also willing to bring it in from my car and then bring it back out to my car! John saved my holiday baking efforts last year when my Kitchen Aid Mixer stopped working mid-brioche! He fixed it overnight so I could get right back to making brioche for friends and neighbors! I couldn't believe it when my mixer broke AGAIN just about the same time this year, only this time I was just mixing soft butter and sugar for Christmas cookies with my children. I called ABESCO and they told me to bring it in. He stood behind his previous work and fixed it for free! Not only that, but he did it in an hour. I can't recommend his services enough..... thank you!
