This was a great place for our small family. Nello, Geri, and Carmella were very accommodating and the house is well kept. We need a cozy place to rest in the evenings and this was a great fit. Not too much and not too little. Close proximity to the things that you travel to the Traverse City area for but the perfect distance away where it is peaceful with great skies at night. Will be staying again.

This is not a cottage; it is a home away from home. It is clean, doesn't have a musty smell like many cottages, and the screened in porch is a total plus! If it is raining, you can still feel like you are out of doors by being on this porch and in the evening, no mosquitos! If it's cool, the little fireplace is so welcoming. I would recommend this summer get-away to anyone who wants to spend a week in northern Michigan on Leelanau Peninsula. It's not that far from the Traverse City metropolis, but outside enough so you are in the country. There are tons of places to go surrounding this little villa so you won't be bored. Enjoy just getting away from all of the hubbub of city life and enjoy a week in God's country. And you will love the owners and their little daughter! They even have geese and chickens for those little city folk to experience!
We spent Labor Day weekend at Holiday House. We were delighted with the Geri and Nello's vacation home. It's clean, uncluttered and cozy with everything you need. It's a great location on the Leelanau Peninsula with easy access to all of Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, as well as Leland, Glen Arbor, Traverse City, etc. Like one of the other reviews states, it's a home away from home. We will definitely stay there again!
Can not say enough good about staying at Lime lake at the Holiday House. The home is always neat and very, very clean. The owners, who are great and accommodating, live next door, but you will not see them unless you want or need to.We usually stay here twice a year. The trails in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore are our favorite. Lime Lake is spring fed, with a sand bottom and also has great fishing along with kayaking and swimming. You have access to wineries and wonderful restaurant's, try the local favorite, Art's Tavern in Glen Arbor. We have taken the day trip to the Manitou Islands, which is spectacular, even has a shipwreck off the south island which is visible. Get your BBQ ready from the fresh local butchers, Gabe's in Maple City, or Pleva's in Cedar, both minutes from the Holiday House. Make sure to bike the new paved path from Glen Arbor to Glen Haven, where they have been restoring the town. Inside the general store, there is a mini museum and describes the history of the area very interesting. Get the maps for all the trails and purchase your National park sticker at the DH Day campground, between Glen Arbor and Glen Haven off M 109. You will not be disappointed with a vacation to Leelanau area and your stay at the Holiday House!
