Was our first time at this event and we'll never miss it again! Fun and relaxed atmosphere, food and beer, a small petting zoo and other usual rodeo activities. Very children friendly. They can even ride a mechanical bull Bring sunscreen as there is not much cover.

Lots Of Fun! Had A Great Time. The Rodeo Was Flowing At A Good Pace And Did Not Get Boring At All, On The Contrary, It Was Exciting! Good Amount Of Places To Buy Delicious Food From. I Even Bought A Cowboy Hat!

Honestead Rodeo is hosting Garden Brother's Circus despite the exhibitors disgusting history of animal cruelty that dates back 3 decades. At one point Garden brothers were banned from exhibiting any animals for 15 years after investigators discovered obscene cases of animal cruelty, neglect and deplorable living conditions. They have such a bad reputation they've changed their business name nearly a dozen times. The following is an excerpt of a former Garden Bros circus employee regarding abuse he witnessed: The former employee recalled how Carson & Barnes Circus (Garden’s elephant supplier) handler Habib Omar would “warm up” the elephants Libby and Bunny by jabbing them with a bullhook or by shocking them with a Taser before they took the stage. The whistleblower figured that these electric shocks were used because this abuse wouldn’t cause visible bloodshed before a show. Beyond that, GBC has a F- rating with the Better Business Bureau. Circuses need to get permits to perform in whatever they go. Garden brothers circus is notorious for failing to get these permits because they're expensive. Since they're only there for a few days, Garden brothers will try to get away with performing w/o the permit. If they're caught, they can't perform so they'll just leave town without even notifying anyone. They've ripped off so many venues entire states have banned them from performing there. That's why they've been forced to travel further North, even into Canada to find venues that will allow them to perform. They're sick, deplorable people and Homestead Rodeo is being ridiculous by hosting them. Then again, why would I expect a Rodeo to give a care about the welfare of animals?

This is our fourth year attending the Homestead Rodeo. It is family friendly and we always have a great time.

Don't recommend it because animals shouldn't be treated with disregard. They're sentient beings capable of all kinds of feelings just like humans.
