Fujiyama was not our first choice for dinner, but since we didn't need to wait we finally ended up here. The food was actually beyond my expectation. The yakisoba was great - I'm not sure but I think they used ponzu sauce in it? Beef tataki was awesome. The meat was soft and chewy. I also suggest the mountain yam. The first time I saw the photo on Google I thought it was some kind of egg. The simmered pork belly soup was really tasty - I think they might add some ginseng? The best part of my dinner was the dessert - rare cheese cake with yuzu sorbet! The grapefruit flavor made this dessert really fresh taste. I love it!

If you’re looking for amazing Kushikatsu in Honolulu, this is it! The batter is extremely light and the skewers are all seasoned and fried perfectly. To top it all off, the staff if extremely friendly and attentive. Make sure to call ahead for reservations as this place keeps busy.

You can't go wrong with that glass of Asahi beer and the delicious food! It's a must-go location to chill and relax with friends and loveones.

Who doesn't love fried things on sticks? All the items are lightly battered and fried, but not that heavy, oily American fried. Lots of variety for sticks and then there are other izakaya items to round out the meal. Prices on alcohol were reasonable. The lemon chuhi was a little weak but we just switched to straight shochu anyway afterward. Get the chicken wing -- crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Tamago was also excellent.

Absolutely delicious. Specializes in kusi-katsu, a form of breaded frying, but has sushi and sashimi, and many other dishes as well. Bar has house wine, sake, shochu, two whiskeys, one tequila, and beer. Make reservations as it gets busy.

For the katsu we ordered the salmon, ahi, beef, onion, takoyaki, mountain yam, octopus, chicken, croquet, and bacon. They were pretty good. I liked the yam, onion, and octopus more. We also had the beef tataki - which was a bit undercooked and/or underseasoned for me. The jellyfish was also yummy (maybe just a tad bit too salty). The servers were also really friendly and welcoming!
