Our guides James and Andrew were very friendly and provided us with wonderful views. Also loved having a a smaller group and supporting a family business. Our tour was in 2019 but we always talk about our great experience.

We had the absolute BEST adventures with this company. We did the self-tour on the ATV's and when following the maps they gave us, came across gorgeous big bears! They were beautiful. Then we took the Whale Watching Tour. BEST ever!! The Captain and his daughter were so knowledgeable and we saw a pod of Orca that were gorgeous and close up. The Captain was careful not to disturb them but got us as close as he could. We also saw Humpback whales and some very cute lazy seals on a bouy. The Captain got us so close to it all. We have never been to Alaska nor have we ever seen this kind of wild life up close. This was the best day of our 8 day cruise trip! Thank you Honnah Travel Adventures for making this so memorable. You are all the best!!! Loved the atmosphere you provided and the wholesomeness of the family businesss. Best trip ever!!

My wife and I saw numerous orcas, humpback whales and other wildlife during our recent whale watching trip. The process of meeting and getting on the boat was easy and Captain Paul did a great job on our tour. If we’re ever in Hoonah again, we’ll go to Hoonah Travel Adventures first for any excursions. I highly recommend this experience.

By far my favorite tour during my recent trip to Alaska. We saw SO MANY whales. Additionally, the guide was full of interesting facts and had a fun sense of humor. Very much recommend!

Summer 2017, did a whale watch and saw several Humpbacks literally flying out of the water! Captain Paul repeatedly put us in position for amazing photos and seemed to know everything about the area... After the boat trip, we rented a brand new Jeep Wrangler (other option was a Arctic Cat side by side) and drove gravel logging roads in search of wildlife. During our drive, we saw brown bears and deer...SO AMAZING!! All of the equipment is first rate, which really surprised me at first. After meeting Angie and Dave, it became clear that they work hard to provide only the finest equipment which is great because Hoonah is a small, remote village without most of the amenities of a larger tourist stop. They are so friendly and engaging, the staff are all local so they know the history of the area. We will definitely be back and cannot wait to see what they have available next time! THANKS for the amazing adventures!

It took me several cruises to learn that the best excursions and best values can be had by booking in advance rather than through the ships excursion desk. This was certainly the case with Hoonah Travel Adventures. I've been on numerous whale watching trips in Alaska and Hawaii but nothing beat this experience. This tour was as professional as it gets. The owners were directly involved in the operation and the captain and crew were professional and knowledgeable. Don't waste your time on a big boat in the large ports fighting for elbow space with hundreds of other passengers to view and photograph the wildlife. This tour is where it's at. With time left over to explore Hoonah after the outstanding whale watch, my party rented a Jeep from HTA for a self guided tour through the miles of remote forest. The transaction was painless and the owner gave us a few recommendations on areas to visit. Only minutes later we were in remote Alaska viewing eagles, deer, bear, and majestic landscapes on our own. The Jeep was new, clean, and we were provided satellite communication at no cost in the event of an emergency. This is a top notch outfit with local experience that is committed to customer service and satisfaction. Never did I feel like just another number. I'm already planning my next trip to take advantage of the other tours they offer. I recommend making reservations in advance because a secret gem like HTA won't be secret for long and you don't want too miss out if your date is sold out.

Rented atv and took the self guided tour of the island. Saw bear and deer. Was quite a bit of fun, however wish i had a map and the atv was quieter.
