We had take out and it was great. The sushi was very flavorful and fresh. Chicken fried rice was great. The Crab Angels were some of the best I have ever had. Sweeter than I am used to, but they were delicious. Portions were all quite large for the price. The service was fast and friendly when we called and when I picked it up. Overall, a really great experience.

My husband, son and I visited Unagi for the first time on Easter Sunday. The entire experience was amazing. From the hostess that greeted us and sat us to the server that took care of us and the numerous employees that checked on us. We ordered the fried green beans and spring rolls for our appetizer and loved them. We also ordered sushi that was some of the best we have ever had. We frequent a sushi franchise in Hoover and decided to try Unagi instead of the other one and we may have found our new sushi home at Unagi! They have sushi that is not on the menu and the server was able to tell us all about it. I suggest the preserve which is topped with strawberries, avocado, jalapeños and a sweet sauce. The presentation was beautiful and the portions are HUGE! We recommend that people visit this place and give it a chance because you will love the experience and the food!

A nice new Asian food restaurant. They had really good customer service and checked on us several times. The beno box had so much and was delicious. The ginger salad was the norm for this type of restaurant but the soup was better than I had before.

Ate here a few weeks ago and it was delightful. It was exactly what we all wanted. The food was hot and fresh. The server was super nice. The calamari we had was cooked perfectly, zero chewy texture you tend to get with it. Udon was a bit too salty for my liking but not so much I couldn't eat it. Will definitely return!

My wife and I ate here for the first time last night and this is truly a hidden gem in Hoover. It seems like there is a place on every corner to get sushi and Japanese style food. This is one that stands above the rest. For a small, strip mall restaurant they truly create some exceptional food. Prices were very reasonable. The crab angels were fantasic, the sushi was presented well, the bento box was a huge amount of food for the cost. We ordered the shrimp and vegetable tempura box, which had a wonderful flavor. They have a large list of sushi rolls, mostly specialty rolls. Would be nice to have more simple rolls on the menu: tuna, yellowfin, eel, etc. Overall a great experience from our server as well, tentative, quick to assist with our needs. A great overall experience, we will be back to try it again.

This use to be my favorite restaurant after a long day of work! Not anymore, I will be finding me another bento and sushi restaurant after tonight. The manager is very inconsistent, fake and not honest. I use to get my order the same exact way all the time. Tonight will be my last night visiting this restaurant. I asked the manager why couldn’t I get my order a certain way (the same exact way I have gotten it the past 4 times)and she told me they only did that when they first open to satisfy customers. This is WRONG!!! That is not the way to gain customers, very unprofessional and bad for business. Your goal should be to keep customers coming back. I’m very upset and disappointed only because I was at another restaurant, I turned around and drove 15 minutes just to come here. That’s no way to treat a customer. If you are going to do something not only once but 4 times, then you should continue to honor it. I will no longer support this restaurant. Your manager needs to be more consistent.
