My wife of over seventy years has been a Michigan of Hospice Southfield office patient going on four years as a Alzheimer's /Dementia patient. In that time we have only had two nurses that could be given top rating. One left and the other was taking care of my wife for over the past year., The company decided they were more interested in operations than patients and there family wishes. I will see if medicare will allow me to change my hospice service. Since my brother was using Beaumont Hospice care.

Sadly the hospice nurse was always trying to get the family to give Ativan with no Luck. Myself being the primary caregiver had to have emergency surgery and the nurse then saw a way to get the daughter to give Ativan. Prior to giving the Ativan client was using a bedpan and asking for it, eating well and reading all day so the need for Ativan was absurd. Said client did have a little cold but Ativan isn't for a cold. Daughter was instructed to give Ativan and also Robitussin DM. Needless to say client hasn't been the same. She now wets herself and just stares. Because of a bad call this patient can't say but 2 words. The two medication interact not to mention also interact with her heavy pain meds. I found out today she wets herself because she can't get our names out . After arriving back to work is when I figured out what was going on.she wants to talk but can't get the words out. Not to mention Hospice is lying to keep her a patient and trying to rush her death. Things like this need to stop and others need to be aware that some hospice nurses try taking lives into their own hands had I not known what I do these medication could have killed her.sadly I pray she will get her ability to talk back because you can see in her eyes how hard she's trying to get the words out .I also have no choice but to report the fraud of certifying her to the government. People beware.

I have a uncle who just started using this program. Firat time someone come out. Gave him a sign dont call 911 call them first. So first time did no one answered the phone. What if it was emergency I guess they dont have time. Thats not even the bad part he hasnt seen his nurse in two weeks and there suppost to come out every two to three days. I guess someones getting paid for not coming out when there suppost to. This place is a joke for the elderly. If you have a loved one make sure you dont use this place they take their money and never show back up.
