This place has served this area for years and i have been able to frequent this place often. It's not super fancy but it's damn good Chinese food. With COVID they have gone the extra mile to keep bothering their customers and employees safe as well.

Found a LOCK OF HAIR in my food. A literal lock of hair. Ordered shrimp and garlic sauce with lo mein, dug my fork in, and pulled out a LOCK. OF. HUMAN. HAIR. Disgusting, unsanitary, and possibly illegal to serve to customers. I will NEVER order from Hot Pot Mechanicsville again. Such a shame because this place has always been one of our favorites since moving, but this is inexcusable.
This place is fantastic. We discovered it about a year ago and haven't looked back. Everything we have tried has been well prepared.
Finally someone listened!! I asked for spicy and got spicy, it was wonderful. Many places think I am joking when I ask for actual spicy. This place just stepped up to the plate. The food was great, and the service was excellent. Found the place by accident (just adventuring) but will be back.
The food is and the employees are GREAT! Won't eat Chinese anywhere else...
