I've been using Del's Plating for going on 6 years now. I've had a wide assortment of items plating and generally the work was done well enough to keep going back. Some issues arose now and again, but I worked with them to ensure the metal parts I provided were prepped the way they wanted them. In the end I acid stripped, polished, lightly oiled and wired every part I brought them to make the batch process as simple and streamlined as possible. One of the many works I do is restoration of classic vehicles, and have always sent parts to Del's for yellow zinc plating. Last week I sent a large batch of parts all carefully prepared to Del's liking across town with a hotshot service and it was turned away with no explanation to the driver, who then returned to me with it. This wasted dry run cost be 65 is transportation charges. When I called to find out what was going on the woman in the office was nice enough, but was unable to give any assistance aside from referring me to email one of the owners/managers. I did so, and pled for some consideration for the years of business and the manner in which I cater the parts I provide for plating by spending dozens of hours per batch carefully preparing the parts to their wishes. A lengthy email, replied to simply that they are no longer doing this sort of work (auto parts) and its more work than its worth. I'm now faced with having to find a new plater while 70lbs of raw uncoating steel, hundreds of parts season in the humidity, potentially causing dozens of hours of rework if the metal begins to blush with flash rust.

I contacted Del's Plating Works to have a moderate quantity of screws given a black oxide coating. Unfortunately, the black oxide finish came out very poor and the screws were unusable for the desired application. I was only made aware of the situation upon inspection when receiving the screws. I tried to inquire about what went wrong during the coating process but did not receive any response from Del's Plating. I was disappointed we couldn't work together to find a solution to this issue.

Good place to work at...unfortunately the management could improve their communication with employees and treat them right!! Only person in that environment is Marilyn,very helpful and sweet! Makes your day with a beautiful smile
