Gentleman shop proprietor John was very gracious with me today. Despite not being open to the public he allowed me to visit and try on a couple of pairs of skates. I was so appreciative of the experience that I asked him if he would recommend me anything else to buy from him and he said no, that he wouldn't want to sell me something just for the money, that he'd rather be sure of what I wanted before I buy it, and you can hardly find such admirable character like that anymore. I started out with a VNLA but after I left I decided I would rather have a Riedell for its simpler design, and even though the store was functionally closed for 30 minutes he picked up and allowed me to come back and make a straight exchange for a different pair. I understand that his hours are listed o line on google but anyone can list a store online with it's hours, it doesn't always reflect the actual status of the stores hours and ability to operate, and always is best to call ahead. This experience may be indicative that Mr. John, who has been running the establishment since about 84', may be open to appointments for shoe fitting, but at his leisure which is perfectly acceptable. Rockin beard as well. Happy 74 John, I hope you get 40 birthdays!

John was SO helpful and SO PATIENT! I came in clueless as ever and he gave me all the details on different types of skates, brands, wheels. The do’s and the dont’s. With how indecisive I was and a limited budget, I was shocked by how he let me take my time and he took the time out of his day to make me feel truly comfortable with my purchase. I LOVE my skates and if it wasn’t for John, I probably would have gotten something I did not enjoy. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I love my skates and my safety gear!
The owner is the coolest guy ever! He was very helpful and pleasant! I’m happy with my Riedell skates!
